Planted in 1948, this 100% Cabernet Franc is grown on sandy tuffeau limestone soil next to Guiberteau's monopole of Clos de Guichaux. Redolent of blackcurrant, blackberries, dried roses, smoke, mineral and tobacco leaf, this red was fermented naturally using whole berries in a concrete vat before spending 10 months or so in conical wood barrels. Ripe tannins and seamlessly balanced.
